Alarm email hooks

About email hooks

In addition to sending standard alert emails to your alarm recipient groups, Exoprise let's you create alarm email hooks as well. An email hook sends an email to the list of recipients you choose. Typically, email hooks can be utilized for automated email processing.

In Exoprise, navigate to Alarms > Settings > Email Hooks. Click Add to create a new email hook. Provide a name and a recipient list, then choose which events to enable, and create the templates you'd like to be used with your email hook.

Email hook elements

  • Name: Give the email hook a unique name.

  • Recipients: An email hook requires a destination email address or a list of them. Separate multiple email addresses with a comma.

  • Enable Ring Event: Alarms are rung and resolved. Select this checkbox to send the alarm notification.

  • Subject: Edit the email subject.

  • Template: The contents or body of the email can be edited as a template.

  • Enable Resolve Event: Alarms are rung and resolved. Select this checkbox to send the alarm resolution notification.

Template bodies

When an alarm is generated, or the alarm rings, it uses the template body to send emails to the recipients. Each event generation, ring or resolved, has a separate template for the configuration. The template is a body of text that will be sent after variable substitution. Variable substitution can be utilized in the subjects as well as the body of the emails.
