Server Windows OS

  • Windows Server 2022

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2016

You can install the following on systems running these server operating systems:

  1. NightWatchman Management Center (single or distributed server deployment). For these components, you can have the following:

    • Only one instance of the database per implementation.

    • Only have one instance of the Reporting Website per implementation.

    • Only one instance of the Import wizard and, for performance reasons, we recommend installing this on the server where the database is hosted. After installing the console, set the Launch import wizard permissions for the user account in the Security section of the NightWatchman Console. You must have permissions on the database (either full dbowner or as a member of the import wizard db role).

    • Only one instance of the console service per implementation.

    • Up to 10 instances of the console but they must be installed on machines that have network access to the server where the console is installed.

    • Up to three instances of the Web service feeding into a single database. Multiple-instances also cover hybrid environments using both HTTP and HTTPS communications (for example, HTTP for intranet-based and HTTPS for internet-based communication). To do this, set the NightWatchman clients and WakeUp implementations in each region to communicate with the Web service using their respective protocols.

  2. WakeUp Server

  3. Web WakeUp

  4. 1E Client (WakeUp client module)

  5. Enterprise View

Refer to Installing and upgrading.

NightWatchman Management Center is not supported on servers configured as domain controllers.

The WakeUp client module is available in the legacy 1E Agent and in the 1E Client.

Client Windows OS

  • Windows 10 CB 21H2

  • Windows 11 CB 21H2

  • Windows 10 CB 21H1

  • Windows 10 CB 20H2

  • Windows 10 CB 2004

  • Windows 10 CB 1909

  • Windows 10 CB 1903

  • Windows 10 CB 1809

  • Windows 10 CB 1803

You can install the following on systems running these client operating systems:

  • NightWatchman console

  • NightWatchman Agent

  • 1E Client (WakeUp client module)

Refer to Installing and upgrading.

For Windows 10 CB 21H2 and Windows 11 CB 21H2, you should use the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.

The 1E NightWatchman Agent or the NightWatchman component of the legacy 1E Agent will not install on any Microsoft server OS.

It is possible to install the WakeUp component of the 1E Agent or 1E Client on servers.

The WakeUp client module is available in the legacy 1E Agent and in the 1E Client.

Client Mac OS

  • macOS High Sierra 10.13

You can install the Mac 1E Agent on systems running these operating systems.

Database servers

  • SQL Server 2019

  • SQL Server 2016 SP2

  • SQL Server 2017

You must have one of these database servers installed. SQL server must be configured to use a case-insensitive, accent-sensitive collation as the server default (the preferred collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS). The NightWatchman Management Center database will inherit this during installation.

You can only have one instance of the NightWatchman Management Center database per implementation.

The SQL Server Agent must be started and set to automatic.

If you are using your own database as a data source for the Enterprise View Website and it is local to the Website, you must add NT AUTHORITY/NETWORK SERVICE to the database users and grant appropriate permissions to that account for any specific tables you want to use. If it is remote, you must add the machine account for the computer hosting the Enterprise View Website in the format: <DOMAIN><MACHINENAME>$ where the <DOMAIN> is the domain where the host computer is running and <MACHINENAME> is the name of the computer hosting the Enterprise View Website.

Configuration Manager

  • SCCM CB 2111

  • SCCM CB 2107

  • SCCM CB 2103

  • SCCM CB 2010

  • SCCM CB 2006

  • SCCM CB 2002

  • SCCM CB 1910

  • SCCM CB 1906

  • SCCM CB 1902

  • SCCM CB 1810

WakeUp Server integrates with these versions of Configuration Manager.

The following client features work with these versions of Configuration Manager:

  • 1E NightWatchman Agent MonitorJobs

  • 1E WakeUp Agent Policy Refresh and REFRESHONSUBNETCHANGE

If you are running CB1610, Microsoft has released an update for it. Refer to this Microsoft article. We recommend you review your deployment and consider the update.

Web servers

  • IIS 10

IIS Windows authentication must be enabled.

You can only have one instance of the Reporting Website per implementation.

Runtime libraries

  • .NET Framework 4.8

  • .NET Framework 4.7

  • .NET Framework 4.6.2

  • .NET Framework is required by NightWatchman Management Center components (except the database). Ensure that the corresponding OS specific ASP.NET version is installed and enabled and preparing a server for web applications where other versions of .NET are in use.

  • .NET Framework is not required by the following:

    • NightWatchman Agent

    • WakeUp Server

  • Silverlight is only used by Enterprise View. You will be prompted to install it if it is not already available.

Refer to Advanced components.

Browsers

  • Internet Explorer 11

Web WakeUp works with these browsers.

  • If you are using the ActiveX control, the web application can be viewed using these browsers.

  • If you are not using the ActiveX control and relying on reverse DNS lookup, then the web application can be viewed using Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Others

  • 1E

  • For platform integration, you must have version 3.1 or later.
