Planning for 1E Client
1E Client is deployed as part of one or more 1E Solutions. You should review documentation for whichever 1E Solutions you are licensed to use, to help you decide which 1E Client features to configure, determined by which server systems are used.
1E Client contains client features and modules for 1E, Shopping, WakeUp, Content Distribution and PXE Everywhere clients. You can optionally enable and configure clients during and after installation.
You will need to decide which client features and modules to enable and configure. Unless otherwise stated, modules are only available on Windows computers. Please refer to Supported platforms for details of supported OS platforms.
1E Client modules
All modules including the 1E client feature can be optionally enabled during deployment of the 1E Client or after deployment by enabling features in its configuration file.

Long-Term Service Branch (LTSB) release cadence for the 1E Windows Client
To ensure stable and manageable updates, 1E has introduced the Long-Term Service Branch (LTSB) policy for the 1E Client. Understanding the operational challenges posed by frequent updates, we have implemented an annual LTSB release with 18-month support. This approach is designed to help businesses maintain a secure and efficient environment with less frequent, but more substantial updates.
Structure and Support
Starting with the May 2024 (24.5) release, each LTSB version will receive 18 months of support. The next LTSB release will follow in May of each subsequent year.
To ensure maximum security and stability, hotfixes will be provided for the latest LTSB release. These hotfixes, thoroughly reviewed by 1E, will address critical stability and security issues (P1 and P2). While the LTSB will not receive additional feature updates after its initial release, new features will be included in the next LTSB release the following year. However, regular hotfixes will be issued monthly.
Aligning LTSB support with the 1E Platform on-premises and subsequent SaaS releases creates a structured and predictable support model. This approach offers not just a product, but a lasting partnership, promising reliability, proactive maintenance, and smooth upgrade pathways. By adopting this LTSB framework, we can continue to deliver top-tier Digital Employee Experience (DEX) solutions while ensuring a consistent and supported ecosystem for all customers.
1E Client installation files are available for download from the 1E Support Portal.
