Expanded CI identification methods

ITSM Connect 5.2.3 enhances the ability to identify configuration items (CIs) within the environment by supporting multiple identifiers. Users can now identify and manage CIs using one of the following methods:

  • FQDN

  • Serial numbers

  • MAC ID

  • NetBIOS

This improvement removes the reliance on the current custom connector, thereby enhancing compatibility and functionality within a SaaS environment. For more details, refer to Enhanced support for custom connector.

Improved support for Service Operations Workspace

ITSM Connect 5.2.3 supports Service Operations Workspace 4.0 without any manual post installation steps.

Instruction message rephrasing

Improved clarity of messages

The new message, “Please wait, the instruction is still running”, is designed to provide clear and concise communication to users. Additionally, a link is included directing users to the specific executed instruction response: "Click here to see if the instruction has finished and returned results." This enhancement ensures that users have a better understanding of the instruction status and can easily access further details if needed.

Average execution time for instructions

Users can now view detailed metrics on the average time taken for each instruction to run, providing valuable insights into system performance. This feature includes a clear description of each instruction. It also specifies whether the execution time is less than a minute or provides the average time (in mins). If the available data is insufficient to calculate the average time, then the system will indicate that the instruction is not executed enough to generate this metric. This enhancement empowers administrators with better data to manage expectations and optimize system operations. Refer to Instruction Management.
