Service Watch

Service Watch consists of two components: Service Watch Desktop and Service Watch Browser. They can be deployed independently or together.

  • Service Watch Desktop is a light agent installed on the machine to gather performance metrics on hardware and software. Once installed, Service Watch Desktop can enable the browser extension. Refer to Service Watch Desktop.

  • Service Watch Browser is a browser extension for Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Refer to Service Watch Browser.

Requirements

Service Watch has very minimal installation requirements:

  • Operating system: Any Windows® OS; 10, 11, Server versions.

  • Service Watch Desktop can run alongside any workload.

  • CPU: At least two cores. Since 2012, most smartphones are no longer single-core. If you are trying to emulate end-user environments, their machines are most definitely multi-core.

  • RAM: Machines with as little as 1 GB of RAM can easily run Service Watch Desktop.

  • Disk: Between 30-100 MB.

Proxy setup and firewall exclusions

Private sites and Service Watch Desktop installations support operating behind all kinds of proxies, proxy configurations, and firewalls. Depending on your proxy configuration, there are several recommended ways to set up sites or installations to support proxies.

For private sites or Service Watch desktop installations to work, and to set up sensors, two or three DNS names need to be allowed through the proxy, firewall, or any network path blocking that might be in place:

  • secure.exoprise.com: For Management Client access.

  • service.exoprise.com: For Private Site access.

  • pubsub.exoprise.com: For Private Site alarm logging. This is optional.
