User engagement module for macOS
The most recent update includes a robust user engagement module for our macOS offering. This new feature is all about observing user interactions in surveys and announcements, evaluating emotions, satisfaction levels, and feedback. It also brings in-depth device details, making it simple for users to keep an eye on and handle their devices. With this upgrade, users get a single interface to engage with surveys, get announcements, and stay in the loop. Refer to User engagements for macOS devices and Accessibility and Notifications.
The new macOS user engagement module includes the following features:
-
Seamless integration: A user engagement module within the 1E Client on macOS, designed to identify user application interactions.
-
Sentiment surveys: A great way to collect and review user feelings, covering everything from satisfaction to general feedback. You can choose between metric surveys for specific data or general purpose surveys for a broader view.
-
Interactive notifications: Admins can send custom notifications and announcements to users.
-
Text localization: Text items within surveys, announcements, and notifications adjust based on the user's system language settings.
-
Multilingual support: We now support sending surveys in multiple languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. Please note this is turned off by default. To change this setting, please contact Support.
-
Device information: Includes displaying the device name, granting access to system settings, showing the logged-in user and OS version, and indicating the last reboot time along with the current network SSID, which also includes the IP address.
-
System compatibility: Notifications respect system settings (Do Not Disturb) and support system themes (light/dark mode), and branding adjustments.
-
DEXCode: Supports user interaction capabilities through DEXCode methods within the Interaction module.
Following the 24.9 1E Client upgrade on macOS devices, users will start receiving User Engagement notifications for existing surveys targeted to Management Groups that include macOS devices. Previously, the 1E Client would not know how to handle these notifications and would ignore them. However, following the upgrade, all active surveys and announcements will be displayed. This feature is not supported on macOS Monterey.
This version does not support the ServiceNow integration or Pain Points.
1E Client automatic certificate provisioning
Automatic certificate provisioning will streamline onboarding of the 1E Client, ensuring the connection to the platform is always secured with mutual certificate exchange. 1E Platform administrators can access platform keys used during the deployment of the 1E Client. When a trusted platform key is used during installation, the 1E Client will create a certificate signing request (CSR) that is sent to the 1E Platform and a certificate is added to the local certificate store. Customers must be running the latest 1E Client, as this feature will only be available on the 1E Platform version 24.9 or later. Refer to Enhanced Settings and Certificates.
The following features are included:
-
Automatic certificate provisioning: You can now have 1E Client certificates automatically provisioned and renewed to streamline onboarding and configuration.
-
Improved visibility and management: You can now see platform keys and their certificates from within the 1E Platform.
-
Configuration flexibility: You can use either automatic certificate provisioning or customer-specific certificates, allowing you to configure and manage certificates to match the needs of your organization.
Customers can continue using 1E Client certificates they have issued themselves.
Enhanced Settings
As part of continuous improvements to the user interface, we have introduced a new Enhanced Settings page, which is in addition to the existing Settings page. From 24.9, you can access both Enhanced Settings and Settings from the User Profile drop-down menu.
1E Status Page
1E is pleased to announce the launch of the 1E Status Page. This Status Page allows 1E Elastic SaaS customers to view the status of their production environment and to subscribe to stay updated on incidents impacting the service, and to receive advance notifications of any new releases or patches that will be implemented.
